Panicum hemitomon

Perennial, warm, native, fair grazing for wildlife, good grazing for livestock. 1 1/2-4' tall with slender, hard stems produced from creeping rhizomes. Many sterile shoots are produced with smooth sheaths while the fertile stems have hairy sheaths. The lower leaf sheaths are overlapping. The blades are from 4-7" long and up to 1/4" wide with rough upper surface and smooth beneath. Grows in moist soil along river and lake banks. Areas 1, 2.

Panicum hallii

Perennial, warm, native, fair grazing for wildlife and livestock. 1-2' tall stems growing in small, erect tufts with slick, green, flat blades. Basal blades curly when dry, resembling pine shavings. Panicle ascending above the leaves, 1 1/2-8" long. The single-seeded spikelets are borne on very short pedicels. The seeds are dark brown and shiny when ripe. Grows on dry prairies, rocky and gravelly hills and bottom-lands. Invades overgrazed ranges. Areas 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
