Bedstraw (Galium spp.)
Bedstraw (Galium spp.)

Several species grow in shady thickets, bushes and slightly protected sites on rangeland, especially in spring after good moisture conditions. Stems and leaves as well as seeds of most species have velcro hooks that catch hold of animals brushing by. Bedstraw can be controlled with herbicides but seldom is. Prescribed burning may be useful.
