Mission
The Texas Field and Stream Program seeks to educate youth and adult leaders about hunting, angling, outdoor skills, and the responsible stewardship of the natural resources of Texas. Wildlife Restoration
Establishment
The Texas Agricultural Extension Service and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department established the cooperative Texas Field and Stream Program in 1995. The program received federal grant money from the Pittman-Robertson Act and the Dingle-Johnson Act (Sportfish and Wildlife Restoration Program).
Goals
The Texas Field and Stream Program seeks to expand adult leader training and youth activity in hunting, angling and the outdoors. Advanced training opportunities and certifications are available to agency personnel, volunteers, and youth in hunter and aquatic education program initiatives. The Texas Field and Stream Program provides support to adult leaders through innovative teaching techniques, lesson plans, information, resource and reference lists, and technical guidance.
