Youth

Texas Brigades

From its beginnings as a single camp focused on quail, Texas Brigades has expanded to include 6 different wildlife topics across the state: Bobwhite, Buckskin, Bass, Ranch, Waterfowl, and Coastal. This wildlife-focused, 5-day leadership development program is available to youth ages 13 to 17. Campers will learn about habitat management, conservation, and ecology while developing communication skills and a land ethic.

Texas 4-H

Local 4-H programs offer a variety of projects that promote youth development, including projects related to range and wildlife stewardship. Kids in grades 3-12 can participate in Texas 4-H, while kids in grades K-2 can be Clover Kids. Projects vary by county so be sure to check with your county Extension office to learn the options near you.

Texas Children in Nature (TCiN)

The goal of TCiN is to connect children and families with nature in Texas to promote health and well-being. Local activities and events can be found at www.naturerockstexas.org.
